Get your school spirit on with new Midwood apparel now available for students and staff to purchase from October 19 to November 20 exclusively through Midwood’s online store.
The new clothing includes short and long sleeve crewnecks, boyfriend, raglan, and performance T-shirts, hooded pullover sweatshirts and polos in various sizes and colors. A 37” unisex white lab coat with an embroidered Midwood logo is even available to purchase on the website for $25.99. Sizes usually range from extra small to extra large, but some clothes include sizes 2XL to 5XL.
Prices vary depending on the size, fabric, and what piece of clothing it is. A youth premium cotton T-shirt sells for $10.99, and the adult’s for a dollar more. Pullover hoodies cost about $25, a micro-mesh colorblock polo for $36.99, and a raglan full-zipped hoodie flee jacket sells for as high as $45.99.
The idea for Midwood clothing for the community was all inspired by Mr. Lawrence Kolotkin, science teacher and coordinator of student affairs.
“I wanted to do it, it was my idea,” said Mr. Kolotkin. “My end goal is for eventually every Friday to be Midwood Spirit Day. I haven’t started Midwood Spirit Day yet since students mostly only own Midwood sports clothing, and I wanted to create something that’s for all of Midwood itself, where everyone can wear school colors or logos.”
All the designs on the clothing displayed on the store website were designed by Mr. Kolotkin himself. They were made made to attract all aspects of the diverse Midwood community in order to show school pride. One can purchase Midwood spirit wear clothing at http://midwoodhighschool.epluno.com.
“Before I started working here, I didn’t feel like the school had a big united community,” said Mr. Kolotkin. “So I’m trying to make a better community in Midwood High School, through having a Midwood Spirit Day and creating clothes for all people a part of the Midwood community to wear.”
The money from the purchases of the clothing is going towards getting the deliveries into the hands of students fast. All orders go through the school then to be delivered three weeks after the shop closes on November 20, 2017.
