The Boys track team had a double second place finish in the varsity and junior varsity at PSAL Borough Championship.
PSAL Borough Championship was held by the Public Schools Athletic League on October 28 at Van Cortlandt park which is located in the Bronx.
Both groups participated in the 5k race (3.1 miles) which stretches around the park and includes a flat course followed by excruciating uphills then downhills and ending with a flat four hundred meters.
In the event schools that reside in their respective borough compete against each other in other to claim victory.
Ermiyas Harper ‘19 came in second in the varsity race with an outstanding time of 17 minutes and 8 seconds.
Although Harper did great at the race, he desires to improve as he said he’ll work on speed in order to come in first at the next race.
Despite achieving a second place finish that many schools would envy the boys yearn for more as they intend to improve and achieve more.
Kumar Wise ‘21 agreed as he said that overall the results of the race were decent however the team must work harder in order to succeed at City Championship.
The coach, Marc Cohen, concurred as he said, “ We could have done better but our main goal is City Champs.”
This brings the boys to their last meet of the cross country season, City Championship. They hope to have a successful performance at the final race and be able to claim the trophy of City Championship.

With one final thing to add Jason Huang ‘19 said “come to track” encouraging those who are interested to join the team for the upcoming indoor season.
